Neighbors of Seahurst Park needs donations to pay attorney costs, court fees for filing appeals, and technical consultants to contest the Final Environmental Impact Statement for the Westmark Project. As we fight to save our park this effort requires the support of many people and may take several years. While large donations would be greatly appreciated, we know that the backbone of this effort will be many people contributing small amounts. All contributions are sincerely appreciated. We ask people who use any sort of online payments to consider setting up a monthly automatic recurring donation. Monthly support of $10, $15 or $25 dollars from enough people can make a huge difference as we move forward with this fight. If you are unable to support the effort financially, please consider volunteering, we will be developing a list of things that need doing. We also plan to arrange other donation options soon.
Current options for donating money are by mail, as recurring online payments from your account, or by paying in person.
We can also use some help that does not involve donating money. We'll update the list at the bottom of the page as needed.
Neighbors of Seahurst Park are registered with the State of Washington as a Non-Profit Corporation. The IRS has approved out tax exempt status as a 501(c)3 entity. All donations made to NoSP after July 16, 2008 are tax deductible.
You may donate to the legal fund by sending a check payable to Neighbors of Seahurst Park to:

If you pay bills online, either in an accounting program on your computer or via your bank's website, you almost certainly have the option to set up an automatic, recurring payment at no extra charge. The advantages of an automatic recurring payment are that you don't have to remember to do it, there is usually no cost to you for the payment, postage or the check itself [please confirm this with your provider] and the payment shows up on your statement each month so you are reminded of it, and can always cancel or skip a payment if needed. You may also be able to set it up to expire after a certain number of payments, 12 or 24 for example.
If you are not already making payments online, check with your bank to see if they offer free online banking. That usually includes a free bill payer service. Again, that means that you don't have to remember to do anything or to pay for the check or postage, and the payment will show up on your monthly statement.
If you set up a recurring payment please send an email to <seahurstfriends@gmail.com> letting us know, as that will help us budget. If you set it to expire after a certain number of payments let us know that too and we'll send you a reminder in case you want to extend that period. Addresses provided to us for this purpose will not be used for anything else unless you request it.
You must set the payments up at your end, we do not have the ability to draft money out of your account and you probably wouldn't want us to be able to. You have to tell the bank how much to send and how often to send it. That way you are in control of your donations. If you need help setting up a recurring payment, check with your bank. If that doesn't work contact us and we'll see if we can find out what you need to do.
You may drop off a payment at any Key Bank branch and have it deposited it to the account of the Neighbors of Seahurst Park.
We need people to print out our petition and collect signatures. We only have one petition now, asking the City of Burien to delineate the Wetlands adjoining the Project site so that they can properly identify what is at risk. The petition has a page for signatures and a page explaining the petition. You can print them as double sided pages, or print multiple copies of the signature portion with one copy of the explanation. Click the link to download/open the petition in PDF format. Please mail completed petitions to the address listed on the bottom of this page.
Another petition had asked the Highline School District to please consider all the ramifications of allowing Westmark to obtain access to the development across surplus school property. The Highline District School Board looked at the facts and listened to the voters (Thank You very much), now we just need to get the City Council and City of Burien to do the same thing.
